With the UK market accounting for 20% to 30% of all orders on the platform, opening up your catalog to UK buyers is a powerful way for EU-based sellers to scale their sales volume.
While the UK is outside the EU, Qogita makes the cross-border process seamless. To get started, there are three key steps to ensure your goods move through customs without delay.
1. The EORI Number
To legally export goods outside of the European Union, your business must have an EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) number.
- Why it matters: Without this, customs will not allow your goods to leave the EU or enter the UK.
- Action: If you don't have one, you can apply through your local customs authority (it usually takes just a few days). Once you have it, share it with your Account Manager so we can verify your account for UK sales.
2. Power of Attorney (PoA) & Carrier Setup
Because Qogita handles the shipping, our carriers (DHL for boxes and DB Schenker for pallets) act as your "Customs Agents." To do this legally, they need your permission via a Power of Attorney (PoA).
Depending on your country and whether you ship boxes or pallets, there are specific documentation requirements.
