What Are Dangerous Goods?

Certain everyday products are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) because they contain substances that can be hazardous during transport — such as flammable, pressurised, or chemically reactive materials.

Common examples of Dangerous Goods

Products you may already sell that fall under this category:

  • Perfumes (e.g., Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, Aftershave, Body Mist) – These contain high levels of alcohol, making them flammable.
  • Aerosol Sprays (e.g., Hairsprays, Dry Shampoos, Deodorants) – Pressurized cans with flammable gas inside.

How Qogita Ships Dangerous Goods

Qogita ships Dangerous Goods under the ADR Limited Quantity (LQ) classification. This is a simplified and widely accepted standard for transporting small quantities of hazardous materials safely by road freight.

Limited Quantity means the individual product quantities are small enough to qualify for a lighter set of transport rules — but the packaging and labelling requirements still must be followed.

What This Means for You as a Supplier

If any products in your order are classified as Dangerous Goods, you are responsible for:

  1. Declaring it in the Seller Portal when creating your shipment
  2. Packaging it correctly — using a new, undamaged double-layer box under 30kg
  3. Labelling it correctly — with the ADR Limited Quantities (LQ) diamond sticker and orientation arrows

The Ship with Qogita service only uses road freight, it does not use air freight. Do NOT use IATA (air freight) markings

✅ Use these markings (ADR LQ)

❌ Don’t use markings that are not road markings. These are Air Freight Markings

4. Attaching the required documents (Dangerous Goods Notes) when prompted by the portal.

⚠️ Shipments that are not correctly declared and packaged will be returned to you at your cost.

Not Sure if Your Product is a Dangerous Good?

The most common Dangerous Goods sold on Qogita Platform are perfumes and aerosols. If you sell these products, they are classified as Dangerous Goods and must be shipped accordingly.

If in doubt, contact logistics@qogita.com before shipping.
